The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) July Notification on March 7, 2024. All the candidates who are interested then can submit their applications for the examination starting from March 7 onwards. The last date to apply for the online applications is April 2, 2024.

As we all know that the CTET is a national-level examination which is conducted to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in central government schools like Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other schools.

All the Interested candidates who want to apply then they will need to visit the official website of CTET at ctet.nic.in and then they will need to submit their applications

CTET Notification 2024

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in India conducts the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) and as we all know, it is a national-level examination. All the candidates who want to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in central government schools like Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, as well as other schools then they all will need to give the CTET Exam.

The CBSE has released the CTET July Notification on 07 March 2024. For all the candidates now all the students can submit their applications for the exam through the official website of CTET which is ctet.nic.in from 07 March. The last date to submit is 02 April 2024.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) Exam Pattern

The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will be in two papers

Paper I (Primary Stage):

  • Candidates need to teach classes I to V.
  • Subjects Covered: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
  • Objective: To know the candidate’s ability to teach younger children in primary classes. 

Paper II (Elementary Stage):

  • Candidates to teach classes VI to VIII.
  • Subjects Covered: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, and Language II.
  • Candidates must choose between Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Science based on their interest.
  • Objective: to know the teaching capabilities of candidates for higher elementary classes.

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) eligibility criteria for both Paper I and Paper II

Here’s the eligibility criteria for both Paper I and Paper II of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET):

For Classes I-V (Paper I):

  • Candidates must have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks.
  • They should have completed or be in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).
  • Candidates with at least 50% in Senior Secondary and in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or a 2-year Diploma in Education are eligible.

For Classes VI-VIII (Paper II):

  • Graduates who have completed or are in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) are eligible.
  • Must have graduates with at least 50% marks and in the first year of Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) are eligible.
  • Candidates with 50% in Senior Secondary and in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) or 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed are also eligible.

CTET Certificate Validity

The validity of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) certificate is of a lifetime. The certificate has a validity period of 7 years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories of candidates. This means that candidates who have successfully cleared the CTET examination will have a lifetime validity for their CTET certificate, and they will need certificate renewal every 7 years.

CTET Qualifying Marks

The qualifying marks for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) depends upon the categories of candidates:

  • General Category: Candidates belonging to the general category must score at least 60% marks or more, which is equivalent to 90 out of 150 marks.
  • SC/ST/OBC/Other Reserved Categories: The qualifying marks for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC, and other candidates must score 55% marks to 82.5 out of 150 marks, to qualify for the CTET.

It’s important for candidates to get the qualifying marks to get eligible for the CTET certification.

Steps to apply online for the CTET July 2024 Notification?

Here are the step-by-step process to apply online for the CTET July 2024 Notification:

  1. Go to the official website of CTET which is ctet.nic.in.
  2. Look for the CTET Application Form on the homepage of the website.
  3. If you are a new user, you need to register by providing the necessary details. Once registered, you will receive a registration number and password for login.
  4. Log in using your registration details like your registration number and password which will be provided during the registration process.
  5. Carefully fill in the application form with all the required personal details.
  6. After filling in your details, you must upload scanned copies of documents.
  7. Proceed to pay the application fee online using the available payment methods.
  8. Before submitting the application form, review all the details you’ve entered and the documents uploaded.
  9. After successful submission and fee payment you will see a confirmation page displayed on the screen.
  10. Print this confirmation page
