Every year, our Independence Day, Republic Day, is celebrated.  Republic Day preparations are underway countrywide.  The chief guests are invited from different parts of the world to celebrate Republic Day 2024.  In Delhi, the main point for the R day celebration is Rajpath, where parades feature the Indian navy, air force, army, police, and paramilitary groups. 

The R day parade 2024 is set to start at 10:30 am on 26 January 2024.  The Republic Day parade is scheduled to start from Vijay chowk to kartavya path Delhi.  The venue comprises 77,000 people, with 42,000 reserved people for the public.  The theme of this year’s Republic Day is Bharat Loktantra Ki Matruka and Vikshit Bharat, which emphasize the Indian qualities as a democratic country

26 January 2024 – Republic Day Grand Celebrations

Republic Day celebrations are featured through grand celebrations and parades.  The iconic Republic Day parade in New Delhi is a visual spectacle that showcases India’s wealthy cultural range, army, and technological advancements.  The unfurling of the tricolour flag, the singing of the countrywide anthem, and the display of navy might are awe-inspiring moments that give the feeling of solidarity and pleasure in every Indian heart.

Republic Day 2024: President’s Speech

The R day parade starts from Vijay chowk at 10:30am from Vijay Chowk.  The Republic Day parade is one of the top points of interest of the occasion.  The occasion started off with parades by using the regiment of the Indian Navy, Army, Paramilitary forces, and police, displaying the country’s military may and cultural range.  India presents its protective strength with its current missiles, aircraft, and weaponry.  The airshows, by using the Indian armed forces, filled the air with pleasure and patriotism.  Magnificent parades by regiments of the Indian navy uplift the honour of our country.

Interesting facts about R- Day 2024

  • The Republic Day of India was declared a countrywide vacation after the first Indian President, Dr Rajendra Prasad, unfurled the countrywide flag on 26 January 1950.
  • Indonesian President Sukarno was the chief visitor of India’s first-ever Republic Day.
  • Each Indian Army personnel taking part in the Republic Day celebration has to go through more than one tier of investigation.  The fingers and weapons are diligently checked to avoid any feasible errors.
  • Many tableaux from states and union territories like Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Meghalaya, etc.
  • The Beating Retreat ceremony takes place on 29 January each year and has its roots in 1600s customs.
  • Rajpath has been used as a venue for the Republic Day parade since 26 January 1955.  Rajpath is called Kartavya Path.
