Sukhbir Singh Jaunpuria is a real estate businessman. On October 18, 1957, Sukhbir Singh Jaunapuri was born in Delhi, India. His father, Sohan Lal Jaunapuria, was a prominent member of the business sector. He finished his studies at Delhi University up to the second year of the B.Com programme.
He started his political career in Haryana, where from 2004 to 2009 he was an independent member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly representing the Sohna Vidhan Sabha Constituency. He defeated prominent members of the Congress Party and others, making his victory in Sohna noteworthy.
When Jaunapuria joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 2014 and ran for the Lok Sabha from the Tonk-Sawai Madhopur constituency in Rajasthan, his political career took a new direction. With a margin of 1,48,000 votes, he defeated former Indian cricket team captain and member of parliament Mohammad Azharuddin to win the election.
