Eligibility Criteria for HP SET 2024
The HP SET Essential Qualification(s) require candidates to demonstrate competency in their respective domains.
Students who have earned at least 55% without rounding off in their Master’s Degree in Humanities (including languages), Social Sciences, Computer Science, and Applications from UGC-accredited universities or institutions are eligible to take this test. Applicants must have received at least 50% of their Master’s degree in order to be considered for the following categories: Persons with Disability (PWD), Other Backward Classes (Non-creamy layer of H.P.), Scheduled Caste (SC), and Scheduled Tribe (ST) of H.P.
Candidates studying a Master’s degree or comparable course, those who have taken their qualifying Master’s Degree (final year) examination and are awaiting their results, and those with delayed qualifying examinations are all eligible to take this test. However, they will be admitted provisionally, and their eligibility for Assistant Professor positions at the state’s universities/colleges would be assessed only if they pass their Master’s Degree examination with the required percentage of marks. They must complete their P.G. Degree examinations within two years of receiving the SET result, with the required percentage of marks, or they will be disqualified.

- General/EWS candidates must have a Master’s degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Computer Science, or Applications with a 55% GPA from UGC-recognized schools.
